In his memoir Spare<\/em>, Harry admits that one particular moment left a lasting and unsettling impression on him.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Much has changed<\/h2>\n

Prince\u00a0Harry<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Meghan Markle\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0love story goes back many years. Meghan\u2019s friend set up a date for the couple in 2016. In their Netflix series\u00a0Harry & Meghan<\/em>, the now-Duchess described how she was in London for the Wimbledon tennis tournament in 2016 when she and Harry initially made plans to meet.<\/p>\n

Harry has revealed that the famous Suits\u00a0<\/em>actress first caught his eye on Instagram when she appeared in a mutual friend\u2019s video.<\/p>\n

Though their relationship was initially long-distance \u2013 a secret to the world \u2013 it never stopped them.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything was text and FaceTime, we\u2019d talk for hours. It felt exciting but not in the way people would assume it would be,\u201d Meghan said. \u201cIt was just relaxed and easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since then, much has changed \u2014 Prince Harry and Meghan have become parents, stepped back from their royal duties, and relocated to the United States. But some parts of their past still seem to haunt them, and certain scenes from Meghan\u2019s time on Suits<\/em> appear to continue troubling Harry.<\/p>\n

\u201cElectric shock therapy\u201d<\/h2>\n

In Spare<\/em>, the 40-year-old prince described watching the season two finale as so tough that he felt like he needed \u201celectric shock therapy\u201d to erase it from his mind.<\/p>\n

He wrote, \u201cI\u2019d witnessed her [Meghan] and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room. I didn\u2019t need to see such things live.\u201d<\/p>\n

The raw honesty from Harry sheds light on the challenges of watching a loved one in such exposed roles. But royal author Tom Bower adds another layer to the story, explaining that once Meghan\u2019s relationship with Harry became serious, the royal household began to exercise control over her Suits<\/em> appearances.<\/p>\n

Although Meghan retired from her role as Rachel Zane on Suits<\/em> in 2018 after getting engaged to Prince Harry, she remained active on the show during the early years of their relationship.<\/p>\n

Behind-the-scenes restrictions<\/h2>\n

According to Bower\u2019s book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors<\/em>, scripts were sent to Kensington Palace for approval, and the Palace even demanded changes to certain scenes. One notable request was that no photos be taken of Meghan in her wedding dress for the show\u2019s final episode. To comply, Meghan always wore a jacket over her dress between takes, which reportedly shifted the vibe on set.<\/p>\n

Despite the behind-the-scenes restrictions, Meghan once spoke openly about her time on Suits<\/em>, highlighting one \u201cperk of the job\u201d \u2014 working alongside \u201chot\u201d co-stars.<\/p>\n

In a 2015 interview with Yahoo Life, when asked if it was tough to be surrounded by so much \u201chotness,\u201d Meghan laughed and said, \u201cI mean, how do you even answer that? No. Absolutely not. It\u2019s one of the job perks, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

In a lighthearted interview with Larry King<\/a>, Meghan\u2019s co-star Patrick J. Adams joked that one particular scene \u2014 which didn\u2019t show any \u201cpassionate parts\u201d\u2014 felt \u201cterrifying\u201d and \u201cscary\u201d to him. And it\u2019s possible Meghan felt the same way about that moment.<\/p>\n

Real reason Meghan left Suits<\/h2>\n

Meghan Markle made her last appearance on Suits<\/em> in 2017, a full year before she married Prince Harry. Many assumed that her upcoming royal duties would prevent her from continuing with any more on-screen roles.<\/p>\n

Still, one of the show\u2019s writers once admitted he had \u201dtaken a gamble\u201d believing their relationship would succeed. Although he didn\u2019t directly say it, Aaron Korsh\u2019s remark suggests he had long planned to write Meghan\u2019s character out of the series.<\/p>\n

While discussing Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s legendary wig game, Meghan revealed that fellow actresses warned her her natural hair would \u201cfry\u201d under the studio lights and urged her to wear wigs during her time filming Suits<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Tina Knowles shared, \u201cShe\u2019s on stage with hot lights and wears wigs often, yet she\u2019s managed to keep her hair beautiful and healthy \u2014 a tough feat in showbiz.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan fired back with a salute to her own resilience: \u201cThat really is a testament. I was on Suits<\/em> for seven years, and many actresses warned me, especially during that grind, that my hair was going to fry. They kept recommending I start wearing wigs.\u201d<\/p>\n
