The air was still, the asphalt was melting underfoot, and all I wanted was to get home quickly and turn on the AC. I turned around \u2014 and saw her. A German Shepherd. She was sitting in a closed car, clearly suffering from the heat. I immediately felt alarmed: the windows were fogged up, the dog was panting heavily, her tongue was hanging out, her eyes were glassy. It was obvious \u2014 she was at her limit. If it\u2019s 30\u00b0C outside, it\u2019s much hotter inside a car.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3572\" data-end=\"3681\">On the windshield, I noticed a note with a phone number. I called. A man answered. I tried to explain calmly:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3683\" data-end=\"3803\">\u201cYour dog is suffering from the heat, please come back immediately and at least open a window!\u201d But he responded coldly:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3805\" data-end=\"3852\">\u2014 I left her water. I was furious. How is a dog supposed to drink from a closed bottle?! I couldn\u2019t wait any longer. I grabbed a nearby rock and hit the window with full force. It shattered with a loud crash. The car alarm went off, but I didn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4136\" data-end=\"4288\">I pulled the dog out. She collapsed next to me, breathing heavily, but she was already starting to recover. I poured water over her and called for help.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4290\" data-end=\"4357\">A few minutes later, the \u201cowner\u201d showed up, face twisted with rage:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4359\" data-end=\"4400\">\u2014 Are you crazy?! I\u2019m calling the police!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4402\" data-end=\"4511\">When the police arrived, something happened that none of us expected\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/svg\/1f631.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude31\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/svg\/1f628.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude28\" \/>\u00a0Continued in the first comment\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/svg\/1f447.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc47\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/svg\/1f447.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc47\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4513\" data-end=\"4766\">And he did call them.
