<\/p>\nFBI Director Kash Patel has provided an update on the investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk, stating that the agency is \u201cpursuing every possible lead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested and charged with Kirk\u2019s murder, but Patel added that the FBI is investigating the \u201cpossibility of accomplices.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are carefully examining all theories and questions, including the location from which the shot was fired, the possibility of accomplices, the text message confession and related conversations, Discord chats, the angle of the bullet and its impact, how the weapon was transported, hand gestures observed as potential \u2018signals\u2019 near Charlie at the time of the assassination, and visitors to the alleged shooter\u2019s residence in the hours and days leading up to September 10, 2025,\u201d Patel wrote in a post on X.<\/p>\n
Patel added, \u201cThe entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk. We will not rest until justice is served, and our investigation into this assassination will continue until every question is answered.\u201d<\/p>\n
The online messaging platform Discord confirmed reports that about two hours before Robinson was taken into custody, he posted messages in a small group of friends on the platform.<\/p>\n
One of the messages read: \u201cHey guys, I have bad news for you all \u2026 It was me at UVU yesterday. I\u2019m sorry for all of this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Patel referred to this Discord message during his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, stating that the FBI is investigating \u201canyone and everyone involved in that chat with Robinson.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Patel, there are far more than 20 people linked to Robinson on Discord, \u201cand we\u2019re tracking them all\u2026 one by one.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a number of individuals currently being investigated and interrogated, and many more who have not yet been investigated, linked to that chat. We are very active in this ongoing investigation,\u201d Patel said, adding that other people may also be involved.<\/p>\n
Robinson was charged with several crimes last Tuesday, including aggravated murder. Last week, prosecutors said they would seek the death penalty. Robinson did not publicly plead guilty on Tuesday; before his next court date on September 29, the judge ordered that he be represented by a lawyer.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Turning Point USA announced on Thursday that Erika Kirk, widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been unanimously elected as CEO and Chair of the organization\u2019s board of directors.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn prior discussions, Charlie had expressed to multiple executives that this was his wish in the event of his death,\u201d the organization said in a post on X.<\/p>\n
Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. His death shocked supporters and allies within the conservative movement, leaving the future of the group he founded in question.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Turning Point USA\u2019s board of directors said its members were confident in Erika Kirk\u2019s leadership, citing her experience alongside her husband and her commitment to his mission.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was the honor of our lives to serve as board members at Charlie\u2019s side. He prepared us for a moment like this. He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA would survive even the most difficult tests. Now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA,\u201d the board said.<\/p>\n
The statement described Erika Kirk as the natural successor to carry forward the late founder\u2019s vision of faith and patriotism.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of us at Turning Point USA have a special role in carrying Charlie Kirk\u2019s mantle and completing his vision of bringing us all closer to the Lord and fostering a prosperous country for future generations,\u201d the board added. \u201cAs Charlie always said: \u2018We have a country to save.\u2019 We will not surrender or kneel before evil.
