The room seemed to spin, each word reverberating with despair and hopelessness.<\/p>\n

Despite the overwhelming pressure, Olesia and Eugen took a moment to think. They looked at each other and knew deep inside that no matter what the doctors said, their love for this unborn child was stronger than any medical prediction. They made a firm decision: they would keep their baby. They refused to accept the bleak prognosis as the final answer. When they told the doctors of their choice, the medical staff responded with cold detachment: \u201cThat\u2019s your decision. She was admitted and sent into labor, with Eugen anxiously waiting outside the delivery room. The hours felt endless\u2014each minute dragging by as he paced and prayed silently. Eventually, after about three hours, their daughter was born. They placed her carefully on Olesia\u2019s chest, eager to see their child\u2019s face. The moment the nurses confirmed she was a healthy, normal baby girl, the room seemed to glow with disbelief and overwhelming joy.<\/p>\n

It was only then that doctors came to explain what had happened. They had misread the ultrasound. The \u201cmalformations\u201d they had seen were actually large, noncancerous growths\u2014fibroids\u2014called uterine fibroids or myomas\u2014that were mistaken for fetal abnormalities. These benign tumors had distorted the image of her internal organs, creating what seemed like severe malformations.<\/p>\n

The news was bittersweet. Olesia had to undergo surgery to remove the fibroids, and the procedure affected her female organs, which meant she wouldn\u2019t be able to have more children.
