<\/div>\n<\/div>\nPima County Sheriff Chris Nanos; Nancy Guthrie.<\/span>Credit :\u00a0<\/span>NBC News\/Youtube;Nathan Congleton\/NBC via Getty<\/p>\n As the search for\u00a0Nancy Guthrie\u00a0enters week four, Pima County Sheriff\u00a0Chris Nanos\u00a0says the investigation into her disappearance is \u201cstill growing.\u201d<\/p>\n In a new interview with\u00a0NBC News\u00a0conducted Friday, Feb. 20, and published Saturday, Feb. 21, Nanos opened up about the status of the high-profile investigation into the 84-year-old mother of\u00a0Today<\/em>\u00a0co-host\u00a0Savannah Guthrie.<\/p>\n <\/ins><\/ins><\/div>\n The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department (PCSD) launched an urgent search for Nancy on Feb. 1. Asked if the investigation is growing or shrinking three weeks later, Nanos told NBC News, \u201cIn terms of leads and working and getting out there, I think that\u2019s still growing, yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s never fast enough for the sheriff,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cI want it like you: \u2018Come on, guys, let\u2019s go, let\u2019s go, let\u2019s find her.\u2019 But the reality is that I also know that sometimes things take time.\u201d<\/p>\n Nanos also confirmed that there are not currently any names that the department is looking into.<\/p>\n Nancy was last seen on Jan. 31, and the PCSD and FBI believe\u00a0she was kidnapped\u00a0in the middle of the night on Feb. 1 by a masked, armed person seen in\u00a0surveillance footage\u00a0appearing to tamper with Nancy\u2019s doorbell camera. Investigators are \u201cgetting a little closer to identifying some of the other articles\u201d worn by the person, Nanos told NBC News.<\/p>\n \u201cNot just that backpack \u2014 like, the shoes, the pants, the shirt or jacket,\u201d added the sheriff.<\/p>\n Nanos also told NBC News that the DNA samples recovered from inside of Nancy\u2019s Tuscon, Ariz., home are mixed \u2014 they contain DNA from more than one individual \u2014 which has made it more difficult for authorities to run them through databases.<\/p>\n \u201cOur lab tells us that there\u2019s challenges with it,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cThe technology is moving so fast and in such a frenzy that they think some of this stuff will resolve itself in a matter of weeks, months or maybe a year.\u201d<\/p>\n Nanos also shared a message with the Guthrie family, as the search for Nancy enters its fourth week.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re not quitting,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ll find her. We processed their vehicles, we processed their homes. They have been really \u2026 They\u2019re victims.\u201d<\/p>\n The FBI previously offered a\u00a0$100,000 reward\u00a0for any information leading to Nancy\u2019s recovery or an arrest in the case.
