Right by the baseboard, behind a box of old tiles, there was a small black plate.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t a decoration.<\/p>\n
It was a metal cover painted the same color as the lower wall.<\/p>\n
I got down on my knees.<\/p>\n
