Mariah Carey managed to garner a lot of attention at a star studded event where everyone was dressed to impress. The reason so many critical eyes fell on the singer was because of her \u2018daring\u2019 outfit choice.\"\"<\/p>\n

The 54-year-old singer attended the third annual Recording Academy Honors in a dress some considered to be unconventional. She wore a dress that hugged her figure, it was a cream dress that included a corset which was embellished with sheer caramel colored tulle details. The silhouette was incredibly flattering on the pop singer.<\/p>\n

The outfit also featured a deep necklice that highlighted the\u00a0singer\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0figure in areas not everyone thought appropriate.<\/p>\n

While fans\u00a0praised<\/a>\u00a0the singer\u2019s look, with one fan saying, \u201cI\u00a0like it ,\u201d and another adding how the dress seemed to be \u201cMADE for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others were more critical and deemed the dress to be a bit inappropriate for someone her age. A user\u00a0commented<\/a>, \u201cMaybe in the early \u201990s Mariah, but that\u2019s not really something you should be wearing at 54.\u201d While another person added, \u201cAt a certain age you just need to cover it up\u2026\u201d while a third one shared, \u201cSomeone needs to remind her that she\u2019s 54, not 24.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mariah is no stranger to\u00a0critical comments online<\/a>\u00a0as people are used to leaving judgemental comments on the star\u2019s social media as well. In 2017, the pop star uploaded pictures of herself and then boyfriend Bryan Tanaka on Instagram and recieved a sleuth of comments\u00a0fat shaming<\/a>\u00a0her.<\/p>\n

\u201cMariah, you need to lose some weight cause your starting to look like a whale,\u201d one person commented\u00a0on the picture<\/a>. Other people\u00a0added<\/a>\u00a0that the singer looked like \u201ca tease,\u201d and that according to them she needed to \u201ccover those airbags,\u201d or that she \u201clooked gross.\u201d The singer has been on the recieving end of a lot of unfair comments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
