\u201cNo, I have fake Jake Tapper of CNN. And they, they said, \u2018Do you want to debate this guy?\u2019 But, you know, and I\u2019m going to, I\u2019m going to demand a drug test here, by the way. I am. No, I really am. I don\u2019t want him coming in like the State of the Union. He was high as a kite. I said, \u2018Is that Joe up there?\u2019 A beautiful rope. And by the end of the evening, he\u2019s like, well, it was exhausted. Right now, we\u2019re going to demand a drug test,\u201d the former president said.<\/p>\n

The two debates are set to be held June 27 on CNN and Sept. 10 on ABC News. On Wednesday, President Biden challenged the former president to a debate after months of Trump challenging him.<\/p>\n

\u201cDonald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020,\u201d he said. \u201cSince then, he hasn\u2019t shown up for a debate. Now he\u2019s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal, I\u2019ll even do it twice.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Trump said he was in, Biden said in a post on X that he \u201creceived and accepted an invitation\u201d from CNN for a debate on June 27. \u201cOver to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place,\u201d Biden wrote.<\/p>\n

When asked for comment, Trump told Fox News Digital that he will accept the invitation and \u201cwill be there.\u201d The Republican added that he is \u201clooking forward to being in beautiful Atlanta.\u201d<\/p>\n

The proposal, initially detailed by the Biden-Harris campaign in a letter to the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates on Wednesday morning, moves away from the longstanding tradition of three fall debates organized by the commission.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement, Trump told Fox News that he would agree to the incumbent Democrat\u2019s proposed timeline.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrooked Joe Biden is the worst debater I have ever faced \u2013 he can\u2019t put two sentences together,\u201d Trump told Fox News Digital. \u201cCrooked is also the worst president in the history of the United States, by far.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also told the outlet that \u201cit is time for a debate to take place \u2013 even if it has to be held through the offices of the Commission on Presidential Debates, which are totally controlled by Democrats and who, as people remember, got caught cheating with me with debate sound levels.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI\u2019m ready to go,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThe dates that they proposed are fine. Anywhere. Anytime. Any place. Let\u2019s see if Joe can make it to the stand-up podium.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe proposed June and early September dates are fully acceptable to me,\u201d Trump added in his statement to Fox News Digital. \u201cI will provide my own transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some Democrats, however, are voicing concerns. On Wednesday, Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi revealed her personal views on the debates.<\/p>\n

\u201cI myself would never recommend going on stage with Donald Trump, but the president has decided that\u2019s what he wants to do,\u201d Pelosi said, Fox News reported. \u201cI think the format he is suggesting is a good one.\u201d<\/p>\n

The California Democrat also suggested that instead of a debate, she would prefer to see \u201cseparate town hall meetings\u201d for each candidate to let the audience \u201cchallenge them with questions about the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, the Biden-Harris campaign suggested that the first debate take place in late June, following the expected conclusion of Trump\u2019s New York criminal trial and Biden\u2019s return from the G-7 Summit where he will meet with world leaders.<\/p>\n

A second presidential debate would occur in September, preceding the start of early voting. Additionally, the campaign proposed a vice presidential debate to take place in late July, following the Republican nomination of their vice presidential candidate, Fox reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
