During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morris was a second-round draft pick by the Lakers in 2011. He played alongside Kobe Bryant for two seasons. During his NBA career, he also played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Brooklyn Nets.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving the NBA in 2015, Morris played for teams in Russia and France.<\/p>\n<p>LA Times beat writer Mike Bresnahan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/story\/2024-05-08\/darius-morris-dead-father-brother-bank-fraud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted a heartfelt tribute<\/a> to Morris after his passing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDarius was an absolutely super nice guy. He always had a smile,\u201d Bresnahan stated. \u201cWhat I appreciated was that when he made it to the NBA, he decided he was going to enjoy every minute of it. He was going to have fun.
