<\/p>\nA famous Disney songwriter who wrote songs for movies like Mary Poppins and It\u2019s a Small World has died.<\/p>\n
Richard M. Sherman, who was 95 years old, died after getting sick from getting older, it has been confirmed.<\/p>\n
He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills on Saturday. He won nine Oscars.<\/p>\n
Sherman wrote many songs, but his brother Robert B. Sherman and he worked together on the Mary Poppins hits \u201cSupercalifragilisticexpialidocious,\u201d \u201cA Spoonful of Sugar,\u201d and \u201cFeed the Birds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with \u201cIt\u2019s a Small World (After All)\u201d and \u201cChim Chim Cher-ee\u201d from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the pair also made \u201cChim Chim Cher-ee.\u201d<\/p>\n
The brothers won 23 gold and platinum albums, nine Oscars, and two Grammys, showing how talented they were.<\/p>\n
Some of the many movies they worked on together as lyricists and composers are Winnie the Pooh, Charlotte\u2019s Web, and The Magic of Lassie.<\/p>\n
In 2008, President George W. Bush gave them the National Medal of Arts at the White House.<\/p>\n
The documentary \u201cThe Boys: The Sherman Brothers\u2019 Story\u201d came out in May 2009 from Disney.<\/p>\n
Later that year, the business put out \u201cThe Sherman Brothers Songbook,\u201d which had songs from 42 years of their career.<\/p>\n
They worked with Disney for ten years starting in the 1960s. Before that, they had written hit pop songs like \u201cTall Paul\u201d for former Mouseketeer Annette Funicello and \u201cYou\u2019re Sixteen,\u201d which Was Later Recorded by Ringo Starr.<\/p>\n
They worked at Disney and wrote more than 150 songs.<\/p>\n
As they were not playing the piano, they raised their families and did other things they enjoyed.
