Eric Carmen, lead singer of the band Raspberries, has died at the age of 74.<\/p>\n

In a message on his website, the singer\u2019s wife told people about his death.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Amy Carmen said, \u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Eric\u2019s death.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the weekend, our kind, loving, and talented Eric died peacefully in his sleep. For decades, he was happy to know that his music had touched so many people. This will be his lasting legacy.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease give the family privacy while we grieve our terrible loss.\u201d \u201cLove Is Everything\u2026\u201d \u201cFaithful and Forever,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Back in the 1970s and 1980s, Carmen was the group\u2019s star.<\/p>\n

Singer remembers Raspberries lead singer
On X, which used to be called Twitter, singer John Eddie paid tribute to Eric Carmen.<\/p>\n

The artist wrote, \u201cSad to hear that Eric Carmen has died.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of my favorite bands was The Raspberries.\u201d If you like rock \u2018n\u2019 roll, Go All The Way is the perfect single. That\u2019s why I bought their first album with the scratch and sniff sticker.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of my favorite albums of all time is The Raspberries\u2019 Greatest Hits.\u201d The album is pretty f*<\/strong>g great, even the songs that aren\u2019t as good.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n

\u201cI saw the Raspberries live at one of those AM radio fests.\u201d It took place in Philadelphia at the Spectrum. Either WIBG or WFIL it was. It was about 99 cents for the ticket. Slade, The Raspberries, Jim Croce, Lou Reed, and Stevie Wonder were on the bill. it was crazy!<\/p>\n

\u201cThere may have been other acts on the bill, but I\u2019m old and only remember those.\u201d Anyway, it\u2019s a sad day for the child inside me who is now in his late forties. \u201cMay Eric Carmen rest in peace, and thanks for the raspberries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
