<\/p>\nTranscripts of an interview with Anthony Ornato, former White House Deputy Chief of Staff under President Donald Trump, have been released recently. The transcripts reveal that the former leader took action to send 10,000 troops to Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021, in order to secure the nation\u2019s capital<\/p>\n

Despite being present for the interview, former representative and Vice Chair of the January 6 Select Committee, Liz Cheney, and the J6 Select Committee have yet to release the evidence. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), Chairman of the Committee on House Administration\u2019s Subcommittee on Oversight, made the transcript of his interview with Ornato public.<\/p>\n
According to Loudermilk, \u201cThe former J6 Select Committee apparently withheld Mr. Ornato\u2019s critical witness testimony from the American people because it contradicted their pre-determined narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Ornato\u2019s testimony proves what Mr. Meadows has said all along, President Trump did offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the US Capitol, which was turned down. This is just one example of important information the former Select Committee hid from the public because it contradicted what they wanted the American people to believe. And this is exactly why my investigation is committed to uncovering all the facts, no matter the outcome,\u201d Loudermilk added.<\/p>\n
Soumya Dayananda, a senior investigative counsel, interviewed Ornato as part of an investigation.<\/p>\n
During the interview, Dayananda asked Ornato whether he recalled any discussion prior to the 6th of January regarding the deployment of National Guard troops and their numbers.<\/p>\n
Ornato confirmed that he remembered a phone conversation with former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, where it was mentioned that Trump was eager to ensure and was \u201cready to request for 10,000\u201d National Guard troops.<\/p>\n
Ornato further explained that Bowser had only \u201c350 or so for intersection control\u201d and that these troops were not for \u201claw enforcement capacity at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
