Speaker Mike Johnson is confident about the GOP\u2019s chances up and down the ballot after Vice President Harris selected Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.<\/p>\n

During an interview with The Hill, Johnson predicted that former President Donald Trump would win the presidential race and that Republicans would perform well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like the matchup now,\u201d Johnson said when asked how the GOP conference will fare against the ticket. \u201cI\u2019m pleased, for our purposes, that she chose Walz because they can\u2019t hide from their record and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to resonate with the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were on a trajectory, before all of the developments of the last few weeks, to have a decisive victory in both the House and the Senate for the Republican Party,\u201d Johnson continued. \u201cI believe that we still are on that trajectory.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very bullish about November,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
