<\/p>\nFormer NASCAR driver Danica Patrick publicly criticized a campaign advertisement for Vice President Kamala Harris, asserting that it \u201cencourages lying\u201d among female voters during an interview on Thursday with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.<\/p>\n

The pair discussed the 30-second ad released by Vote Common Good and voiced by actress Julia Roberts, which shows a husband and wife interacting before she goes to the poll to vote. The wife then locks eyes with another woman, and as each of them give a \u2018knowing\u2019 look, they both mark their ballots for Harris as Roberts intones: \u201cIn the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want. Remember, what happens in the booth stays in the booth.\u201d<\/p>\n
Afterward, the woman\u2019s husband asks, \u201cDid you do the right thing, honey?\u201d She replies, \u201cI sure did!\u201d<\/p>\n
Ingraham argued that its message is encouraging women to lie to their partners.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlright, Democrats have a really cool new strategy to win over women. When it comes to time to vote, lie to your husbands and your boyfriends,\u201d she said. \u201cSomeone actually got paid to write that script for Julia Roberts. Is it any wonder that male voters can\u2019t stand Kamala with messaging like this?<\/p>\n
\u201cThat men are somehow bullying or threatening the women in their lives who vote for Kamala Harris? Now, I don\u2019t get offended by much anymore. I\u2019ve been in Washington for too long, but that even offends me,\u201d Ingraham said before bringing in Patrick.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, obviously, that\u2019s about lying,\u201d she said. \u201cOn the other side, JD Vance said something beautiful. He said, \u2018You shouldn\u2019t be losing close relationships with people based on who you vote for and this election.\u2019 So, I think that, really, if this is the truth about how you feel, and that you can\u2019t tell your significant other about how you voted, it might reflect a little bit more on the depth of your relationship, because this is a core value.<\/p>\n
\u201cVoting is a core value that really builds relationships. And I think it\u2019s really disappointing that they\u2019re encouraging lying,\u201d the former pro racecar driver added.<\/p>\n
Later in the segment, Patrick, who mentioned that she voted for Trump, acknowledged that women may be less inclined to vote for the former U.S. President because of his character. But she qualified that by noting that he wrongly gets a great deal of negative attention, mostly from the media.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe women vote is definitely something that\u2019s very important, and I know that women can be very triggered by Donald Trump\u2019s personality to some degree,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I also think that the propaganda and the fake news that has come out time and time again about him has painted a bad picture. And I think it really leads to the fact that we as Americans, as human beings, need to think for ourselves, do our own research, and realize that so many of these things are just not true.\u201d<\/p>\n
