Ben Affleck<\/a> has offered praise for his estranged wife<\/a> Jennifer Lopez<\/a>\u2018s performance in their upcoming film Unstoppable<\/em>, which their company produced. While promoting his latest release, Small Things Like These<\/em> with Matt Damon<\/a>, Affleck commended the project starring Lopez, Don Cheadle<\/a> and Jharrel Jerome.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnstoppable<\/em> is a very different movie than this, but in a way, it\u2019s similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists,\u201d Affleck told Entertainment Tonight<\/a><\/em> in an interview published Nov. 3. \u201cIt speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we\u2019re drawn to. We really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply connected to the story.\u201d He added, \u201cJennifer\u2019s spectacular,\u201d while also acknowledging director William Goldenberg and costars Cheadle, Jerome, and Bobby Cannavale<\/a>. \u201cWe believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another one that we\u2019re really, really proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lopez returned the professional courtesy during the film\u2019s UK premiere on Nov. 5, extending the praise<\/a> to the entire production. \u201cI would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n

The biographical film features Jerome as Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with one leg, while Lopez portrays his mother, Judy Robles. Cannavale plays Rick Robles, while Michael Pe\u00f1a and Cheadle portray coaches Bobby Williams and Shawn Charles, respectively. Following its September debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is scheduled for a January release on Prime Video<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Director William Goldenberg addressed working with the separated couple, telling E! News<\/a><\/em> in September: \u201cIt\u2019s always been about the movie and that\u2019s their personal business. We just kept it about the movie. We just kept her eye on the prize.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comments emerged following Lopez\u2019s divorce filing in August, which coincided with their Georgia wedding ceremony\u2019s second anniversary. Recently, the 55-year-old singer discussed her post-separation journey in Interview<\/a><\/em> magazine<\/a> with comedian Nikki Glaser, describing how she\u2019s confronting solitude: \u201cIt feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary,\u201d she admitted. \u201cIt feels sad. It feels desperate. But when you sit in those feelings and go, \u2018These things are not going to kill me,\u2019 it\u2019s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lopez, who parents 16-year-old twins with former spouse Marc Anthony<\/a>, also reflected on personal growth: \u201cYou have to be complete, if you want something that\u2019s more complete. You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn\u2019t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, \u2018I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
