Fox has been battling Parkinson\u2019s disease for 33 years, but thanks to his family, he\u2019s thriving.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Back to the Future<\/em> star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inspiremore.com\/michael-j-fox-shares-rare-family-photos-after-his-four-children-attended-special-gala\/\">made a rare public apperance<\/a> for the Michael J. Fox Foundation\u2019s\u00a0A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson\u2019s gala on November 16th. While there, he shared a health update.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m feeling great,\u201d he told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/media\/videos\/michael-j-fox-shares-health-update-33-years-after-parkinsons-diagnosis-exclusive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ET<\/a><\/em>. \u201c\u2026My tremors are going down; I\u2019m feeling a lot calmer; I feel a lot better; I feel stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Michael admitted that he\u2019s more \u201ctired\u201d than usual, he said his wife, Tracy Pollan, 64, and four children, Sam, 35, Aquinnah, 29, Schuyler, 29, and Esme, 23, \u201ckeep him going.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-michael-j-fox-founded-his-foundation-to-raise-some-hell-for-others-suffering-from-parkinson-s\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Michael J. Fox Founded His Foundation To \u201cRaise Some Hell\u201d For Others Suffering From Parkinson\u2019s<\/h3>\n<p>Michael J. Fox was only 29 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s. The progressive nerve disorder affects movement, speech, and mental health. Because of the symptoms, the actor retired from his career and suffered years of depression and alcoholism. But eventually, he found peace and became an advocate for treatment and a cure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou eventually come to a place where you go, \u2018I can do this.\u2019 This is just the way it is,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/video\/michael-j-fox-on-how-accepting-parkinson-s-diagnosis-changed-his-perspective-96234565974\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Willie Geist<\/a> in 2020. It\u2019s something that happened to me. It\u2019s not something I\u2019m suffering from. It\u2019s my reality. I find that the partner of gratitude is acceptance and surrender.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Michael J. Fox Foundation has funded over $2 billion in research since it launched in 2000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey didn\u2019t have money. They didn\u2019t have a voice,\u201d he said of others suffering from Parkinson\u2019s while talking to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2nwxlcHytx4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CBS Mornings<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in 2023. \u201cAnd I thought I could step in for these people and raise some hell. It\u2019s not a cure. But it\u2019s a big spotlight on where we need to go and what we need to focus on so we know we\u2019re on the right path, and we\u2019re very proud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael J.
