Sure, a windfall like this is nice, but they tend to be unreliable. Therefore, the first priority is to make sure <i>you<\/i> don&#8217;t become one of those poor and needy yourself. And certainly in the USA, there are many ways in which that could happen. Exactly which risks you run we can&#8217;t tell, you&#8217;ll have to make that list yourself. However, judging from the rest of your post, you don&#8217;t really have a need for more money. You seem like you&#8217;re really doing what you&#8217;re good at and haven&#8217;t undergone lifestyle inflation, and already make more than you know what to do with. Do you really want to spend any time at all increasing your income above $100K\/month?
