<\/p>\nA judge officially ended Hunter Biden\u2019s tax case after President Joe Biden pardoned his son, but not before harshly criticizing the president\u2019s announcement about the clemency as misleading.<\/p>\n
In a five-page order, Judge Mark Scarsi said that \u201crepresentations contained\u201d in Joe Biden\u2019s news release about the pardon \u201cstand in tension with the case record.\u201d<\/p>\n

The judge also said he didn\u2019t agree with the president\u2019s statement because it was hurtful to many public officials. He said that the pardon itself covered hours of unacceptable behavior in the future without permission.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President asserts that Mr. Biden \u2018was treated differently\u2019 from others \u2018who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions,\u2019 implying that Mr. Biden was among those individuals who untimely paid taxes due to addiction,\u201d Scarsi wrote. \u201cBut he is not.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scarsi, who was appointed by President-elect Donald Trump, also said that President Biden\u2019s claim that his son was \u201csingled out\u201d and \u201ctreated differently\u201d made it sound like many people in the legal system, including Scarsi and Joe Biden\u2019s own DOJ workers, did something wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo federal judges expressly rejected Mr. Biden\u2019s arguments that the Government prosecuted Mr. Biden because of his familial relation to the President,\u201d Scarsi wrote. \u201cAnd the President\u2019s own Attorney General and Department of Justice personnel oversaw the investigation leading to the charges. In the President\u2019s estimation, this legion of federal civil servants, the undersigned included, are unreasonable people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Finally, Scarsi said that it wasn\u2019t his job to say whether or not Joe Biden\u2019s pardon was legal, but the fact that the president signed it on December 1 and included action \u201cthrough\u201d that same day meant that the president was breaking the Constitution by letting Biden get away with future crimes.<\/p>\n
Scarsi wrote, \u201cWe may read the warrant to apply prospectively to conduct that had not yet occurred at the time of its execution, exceeding the scope of the pardon power, because the period of pardoned conduct extends \u2018through\u2019 the date of execution.\u201d<\/p>\n
The judge scolded Hunter Biden because he used his father\u2019s press release as proof of the pardon in court documents.<\/p>\n
Scarsi stated that the judge required a genuine copy of the pardon warrant from the PARA office at the DOJ and that this was not the proper procedure.<\/p>\n
Following President Biden\u2019s pardon of his son, which both Biden and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre have repeatedly stated would not occur, KJP confronted the media for the first time on Monday.<\/p>\n
A reporter asked Jeane-Pierre if the American people \u201ccould be seen as lies\u201d by those earlier remarks that denied a pardon.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have said repeatedly, yourself, since the election, and the president has said for months, no pardon was coming. I just \u2014 you know, I wanted to ask you, could those statements not be seen as lies from the American people? Is there really a credibility issue you\u2019re giving now this announcement?\u201d a reporter asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, no. First of all, one of the things that the president always believes is to be truthful to the American people,\u201d Jean-Pierre began, immediately getting defensive.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is something that he always truly believes. And if you see the end of his \u2014 I \u2014 I assume that you\u2019ve read his statement and you look at the end of that statement, and he actually says that in the first line in the last paragraph, and \u2014 and respects the thinking and how the American people will actually see this and his decision-making, and I would encourage everyone to read it full, the president\u2019s statement. I think he lays out his thought process,\u201d Jean-Pierre added.<\/p>\n
She continued, \u201cHe lays out how he came to this decision. He came to this decision this weekend. So let\u2019s be very clear about that. He says it himself. It\u2019s in his voice. He said he came to this decision this weekend.
