{"id":6515,"date":"2025-01-21T00:52:21","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T00:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xstorynews.com\/?p=6515"},"modified":"2025-01-21T00:52:21","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T00:52:21","slug":"jill-biden-confirms-melania-trump-declined-her-white-house-invitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xstorynews.com\/?p=6515","title":{"rendered":"Jill Biden Confirms Melania Trump Declined Her White House Invitation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First lady Jill Biden had a lot to say in what is likely her last interview before she and her husband, President Joe Biden, leave the White House on January 20 and some of it was about her predecessor and successor Melania Trump.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6516\" src=\"https:\/\/xstorynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/465063159_937312061762374_4971802148411072904_n-8-300x250.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/xstorynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/465063159_937312061762374_4971802148411072904_n-8-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/xstorynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/465063159_937312061762374_4971802148411072904_n-8.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In speaking with The Washington Post in an interview that was done weeks ago but published this week, the outgoing first lady said that she invited Melania for tea, and the once and future first lady declined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe and I respect our institutions, our traditions,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/style\/power\/2025\/01\/15\/jill-biden-interview-first-lady\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cand it\u2019s very important to me that they continue and we \u2014 \u201d she said before hesitating and sounding resigned, \u201cWhat would be the point of nastiness?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said she did leave a note for the next first lady hat she handed to Presidenrt-elect Donald Trump at the opening of the Notre Dame Cathedral in France.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI congratulated her and I offered help,\u201d Jill said.<\/p>\n<p>She said the president-elect told her, \u201cI had a good meeting with your husband in the Oval Office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d she recalled saying to Trump, \u201cbecause you\u2019re both talkers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>he also did not mince words about her feelings for former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s just say I was disappointed with how it unfolded,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/conservativebrief.com\/biden-in-4-88790\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">she told<\/a> the Post regarding how Pelosi was reportedly behind the push to have Joe Biden drop his reelection bid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d the reporter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.
