The crash, which occurred over the Potomac River, resulted in the death of 67 people. As of now, 55 bodies have been recovered, though difficult, cold conditions make the operation challenging. Ice in the river has slowed recovery efforts, and a Metropolitan Police diver required treatment for hypothermia but has since recovered.
