Her remarks were perceived by some as critical, which led to her having to resign from her position.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kaya had described Barron Trump as \u201csort of like an oddity on campus,\u201d adding, \u201cHe goes to class, he goes home.\u201d These statements were met with substantial online backlash, especially from the College Republicans of America (CRA), who felt her remarks didn\u2019t align with their \u2018values and principles.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As media interest in the story grew, Kaya stepped down from her role as president on February 16. After a few days, she spoke to the New York Post to address the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been working really hard to support the conservative movement,\u201d Kaya explained. \u201cBeing a Republican at NYU is challenging, but I\u2019ve given everything to build our chapter.
