The country is in a trade war with the U.S. after President Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian imports, later increasing it to 50%, before reversing the decision hours later.<\/p>\n
In response to Trump\u2019s aggressive stance, including suggesting Canada become the 51st U.S. state, Carney wasted no time firing back. In his victory speech, he denounced the tariffs as unfair and vowed to defend Canada\u2019s economy, emphasizing that Canada will never be part of America.<\/p>\n
