Aggressive diagnosis<\/h2>\n

Donald Trump and Joe Biden have long exchanged barbs and insults, but Sunday\u2019s grim news might soften tensions between the two.<\/p>\n

On May 18, the office of the 82-year-old former president confirmed that Joe Biden has been diagnosed with stage nine prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.<\/p>\n

The statement read: \u201dLast week, President Joe Biden<\/a> was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer,<\/a> characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued:<\/p>\n

\u201dWhile this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s health has long been a topic of concern among voters \u2014 especially during his time in office and his brief 2024 presidential run. After struggling in a heated debate with Donald Trump and facing mounting health questions, Biden surprised many when he dropped out of the race just three months before Election Day, passing the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n

Trump breaks silence<\/h2>\n

During that turbulent campaign season, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had to publicly deny rumors that Biden was suffering from Alzheimer\u2019s disease after his on-camera performance raised eyebrows.<\/p>\n

Now, as Biden\u2019s health news making headlines once again, his successor and political rival Donald Trump has stepped forward with a surprisingly gracious statement.<\/p>\n

Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201dMelania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden\u2019s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, who stepped up to lead the Democratic campaign after Biden withdrew, also sent her well wishes for his recovery, describing him as a strong fighter.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden\u2019s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time,\u201d Harris shared on X. \u201cJoe is a fighter \u2014 and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s cancer battle<\/h2>\n

This isn\u2019t Joe Biden\u2019s first battle with cancer.<\/p>\n

In 2023, while still in office, he underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Before his presidency, he also had treatment for skin cancer.<\/p>\n
