As Israel targeted Iran\u2019s nuclear facilities and Iran retaliated with rocket attacks, many fear that World War III could be around the corner.<\/p>\n
According to a CBS report, Trump is considering a strike on Fordo, Iran\u2019s underground uranium enrichment site \u2013 but is holding fire if Tehran agrees to give up its nuclear ambitions.<\/p>\n
A senior intelligence official told CBS that the president \u201cheld off from initiating strikes in case Iran agreed to abandon its nuclear programme.\u201d
\nOn Wednesday Trump met the media, making it clear he\u2019s keeping everyone guessing: \u201cI may do it, I may not do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
When pressed about Iran\u2019s expected refusal of unconditional demands, Trump responded with a nonchalant: \u201cGood luck.\u201d<\/p>\n
And then: \u201cI mean, nobody knows what I\u2019m going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cUnconditional surrender \u2013 that means I\u2019ve had it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Just hours earlier, Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded to Trump\u2019s demands.<\/p>\n
He warned \u201cany US military intervention\u201d would be costly and declared: \u201cThe Iranian nation will not surrender.\u201d
\nTehran\u2019s UN delegation also took to X to mock Trump: \u201cIran does NOT negotiate under duress\u2026 No Iranian official has ever asked to grovel at the gates of the White House. The only thing more despicable than his lies is his cowardly threat to \u2018take out\u2019 Iran\u2019s supreme leader.\u201d<\/p>\n
