Jeni and Ray Bonell, from Toowoomba, Queensland, never planned to have a large family. Jeni initially didn\u2019t want kids, while Ray dreamed of having four. Now, after over three decades, they\u2019re parents to 16 children\u2014nine boys and seven girls, aged between 10 and 35.<\/p>\n

\nRunning a household of 18 (with 8 kids still at home) is no easy task. The Bonells spend $600 weekly on groceries, including 50 liters of milk and dozens of eggs. Jeni organizes the family\u2019s life with a chore chart and involves kids as young as 12 in cooking. Laundry is an ongoing challenge, with three loads done daily.<\/p>\n
Despite financial pressures and criticism for having so many children, the Bonells embrace their large family. Their deep faith, teamwork, and humor help them maintain balance. They\u2019ve developed an efficient routine, with older kids helping with chores and meal prep.<\/p>\n
