High above the mountain ridges, the eagle circled in silence. Its wide wings cut through the air without a sound, while its sharp eyes watched every movement below in the valley. The sun lit the rocks and dry grass, where a long snake slowly slithered, searching for a place to hide.
The eagle saw it. For a moment it hovered in the sky, as if thinking, then folded its wings and dropped like an arrow. The wind whistled around it as it rushed closer and closer to the ground. The snake sensed a shadow passing overhead and lifted its head, but it was too late.
With one swift, precise movement, the eagle seized the snake in its strong talons and rose back into the sky.
High above the mountains, it flew calmly toward its nest. Below, the valley grew quiet again, while in the sky the ruler of the air continued to soar.
