My husband told me to stay away from the house on Christmas because his ex-wife was coming over

“That you were actively trying to turn us against her. He said you only did nice things for us because you wanted us to owe you.”

Then Valerie’s voice came over the line.

“Clara, I owe you a massive apology.”

“For what?”

“For actually believing him.”

Harrison had told his ex-wife that our marriage was quietly falling apart. He claimed I was emotionally unstable, financially reckless, and actively plotting to force Connor and Maya to choose between us.

He had begged Valerie not to reach out to me because he claimed I would ruthlessly retaliate against him.

“He showed me printed bank statements,” she continued. “They show that you transferred $48,500 out of your savings directly to Safe Haven Lodge.”

“I never authorized a transfer like that.”

“Your name is printed right on the statements.”

“Did he pull up the transactions on the computer?”
