She passed away at the age of 51.

TMZ reported that Esta’s family said she died suddenly in her home in North Hollywood.

The doctors who found her body think she had been dead since the day before.

Her death is being looked into.

When Esta talked to Soap Opera Digest a few weeks ago, she hinted that she might go back to acting on daytime TV.

“Definitely something I would like to get back into,” Esta told the outlet. She lived in both South Africa and the US.

She played the troubled Hungarian princess Gillian Andrassy on All My Children until 2001, when her character died.

After ten years, she played Gillian’s ghost in the last few weeks of the soap opera’s run.

In April 2011, ABC said they were ending the long-running show that had been on for 41 years.

“When I got back, Cameron Mathison and I were both very emotional.” “When we saw each other, we both started crying,” Esta said about Ryan Lavery, the actor who played her love interest.

“Back then, we hadn’t seen each other for years, so it was such a touching moment for us.”

When Gillian said she wanted to go back to her home country of South Africa, Esta made the decision to kill her on the show.

Years later, though, Esta was ready to go back to soap operas and hoped to do so with Cameron, who was 54 at the time.

Everyone from All My Children paid their respects to the late star on social media after she died.

A picture from the past of her and Cameron on set was posted with the sweet message, “Rest in Peace, Esta TerBlanche.” Thank you for putting on such a beautiful and interesting show. Beautiful Princess, we will miss you.

In the comments, fans shared how sad they were about Esta’s death.

“She and Cameron Mathison were incredible together, he’s never had chemistry with anyone else like her since,” a friend said.

Aside from being the lead in the popular South African drama Egoli: Place of Gold, Esta was also known for winning Miss Teen South Africa.
