Two people who loved skiing, Jean Daniel Pession, 28, and his girlfriend, Elisa Arlian, have died in a terrible accident.
They fell more than 2,000 feet off a mountain in Italy and tragically died.
The Italian Winter Sports Federation said in a statement this weekend that the bad news was true.
It said, “A terrible tragedy happens in the world of winter sports, especially speed skiing.”
A World Cup player named Jean Daniel Pession, who was 28 years old, died in a terrible mountain accident above Champoluc (Ao). His girlfriend died at the same time as Pession.

People say that Pession and Arlian, who is 27, were on a romantic hike on Mount Zerbion in the Alps when the terrible accident happened.
It is said that their families became worried when they didn’t come home, which led to the launch of a rescue mission involving three helicopters with mountain rescue, police, and firefighters.
The Mirror says that the two were later found dead, still holding hands, after what is thought to have been a fall of about 2,300 feet.
The best place Pession ever got in a World Cup was 15th place in the 2021 standings, when he was on the Italian team.
His girlfriend taught kids how to cross-country ski and taught first grade.
People have already said nice things about the two in the comments sections of their old social media posts.
