While known for being the only constant member of the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan also explored the world of professional wrestling as a promoter. When not in the spotlight, the musician enjoyed time with his wife Chloe Mendel. The two married back in 2023. Although enjoying their time together, Mendel recently announced that her mother was injured when a car rammed into the singer’s cafe.

Sharing some details surrounding the incident, it appeared that Jenny Mendel was enjoying some time at Madame ZuZu’s when a car decided to crash into the building. Opening up about the incident on social media, Chloe wrote, “This afternoon at Madame ZuZu’s, a car (in circumstances which remain under investigation), drove over the curb and into Madame ZuZu’s, crashing through the window and sadly injuring one person – my mother, Jenny.”

Not only was Chloe’s mother injured, by apparently, her son, Augustus, was also there. Corgan’s wife revealed, “Thankfully, he was able to leap out of the way and was not injured. Our family is grateful for the swift assistance of the Highland Park and Deerfield first responders.” As for Madame ZuZu’s, it seemed the cafe will be closed for some time. Chloe concluded, “Madame ZuZu’s will be closed until further notice and we’ll provide updates as we move forward. Thank you for your support and understanding.”
