Our beloved “Wheel Of Fortune” host passed away! He was a real LEGEND, we are going to miss him.
Television icon and host Chuck Woolery would be remembered as one of the most beloved TV figures of game shows.
Woolery, knows as the first host of Wheel of Fortune passed away aged 83 following an illness. The news was confirmed by his long-time friend Mark Young who
posted on X, “It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother.”
As reported by TMZ, Young told the outlet that Woolery “said he wasn’t feeling well and went to lie down.”
Later, Woolery returned and mentioned that “he was having trouble breathing.” Young then claimed that 911 was called but “he didn’t make it.”
Except for one of the most famous game shows, Wheel of Fortune, Woolery also hosted Love Connection and Lingo among the rest.
In later years, Woolery hosted the podcast Blunt Force Truth, a popular right-wing podcast. In it, the television icon shared his conservative views.
Woolery was born on March 16, 1941, in Ashland, Kentucky.
At the start of his career, he tried himself in music with the band The Avant-Garde that he formed together
with Elkin “Bubba” Fowler in 1967. It was their song Naturally Stoned that helped them grow to fame.
The television icon was married four times. He was inducted into the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame in 2007.
Woolery will be remember as someone who made millions laugh.
