Mother nature is beautiful and glorious, but sometimes, her wonder can lead to destruction. Right now, in California, wildfires are destroying people’s homes and their livelihoods. Tragically, when the flames approach, sometimes nothing can be done to stop the burning. According to CBS News, the current wildfires in Southern California have killed at least five, and more than 200,000 people have had to evacuate their homes. We’ve seen celebrities and regular folks alike lose everything. It is a heartbreaking reality for many and has left so many feeling positively hopeless.

An Airline Passenger Caught Incredible Footage of The California Wildfires From Above

ABC News shared the footage on X, and it was positively captivating. The caption reads, “Plane passengers were shocked by what they saw as they prepared to land in Los Angeles, as the wildfires ravaging local neighborhoods could be seen clearly below them glowing in the darkness.”

It looks like another world or something out of a movie. As the plane flies over Los Angeles, parts of the city appear to be surrounded by a ring of fire.  Passengers can be heard on the clip, gasping in disbelief. One simply says what we are all thinking “Oh my God.”

X users were equally shocked by the footage.

One wrote, “It’s very emotional for us all.!!!!”

This one seemed to give a warning, “God is greater and more powerful than your arrogance. You are nothing before God. Hell is coming to you.”

But, this person offered hope to those suffering during the California wildfires.

“Even amidst the glowing chaos of wildfires, remember Frankl’s wisdom: ‘When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.’ Let’s support our communities and find meaning in this adversity together.”
