The American Music Awards are right around the corner. As a result, rehearsals for the big night are underway. Performers, presenters, and host Jennifer Lopez have been preparing for the event for weeks. Earlier this week, she revealed rehearsals haven’t been easy when she shared a photo of a painful facial injury.
Yesterday (May 13), Lopez took to her Instagram Stories to share photos of the injury with her fans and followers. “So… this happened,” she wrote on a photo showing a cut on the bridge of her nose. Her nose also appeared swollen and bruised, giving her a slight black eye. Later, she revealed that Dr. Diamond treated the wound. Fortunately, though, she’s “good as new” and ready to host the AMAs later this month. If her previous turn as host of the AMAs is any indication, fans will likely get to see the “Jenny from the Block” singer perform as well.
Jennifer Lopez Returns to the American Music Awards After a Decade

The American Music Awards are slated to take place on Monday, May 26, at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas with Jennifer Lopez hosting. This isn’t her first time helming the awards show, though. She hosted the AMAs in 2015 and has performed at the awards show several times over the years.
Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions spoke about Lopez’s return to hosting in a press release. “We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lopez back to host the American Music Awards. Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show,” he shared. “We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick off celebration of summer,” he added.
The American Music Awards will air on Monday, May 26, at 8 PM Eastern Time on CBS. Those who don’t have access to cable or broadcast television can stream the awards show on Paramount+. Because this year’s AMAs take place on Memorial Day, the awards show will honor the biggest names in music as well as the United States armed forces.
